The Catholic University of Zimbabwe proudly participated in the successful Chishawasha Marathon held at Ss John Fisher and Thomas More National Seminary, Chishawasha, in a remarkable show of unity, wellness and community support.
Leading the university delegation was Professor Nyambo, who took part in the marathon alongside Mr Mutoro, Mr Mauchi and 10 students from the Catholic University of Zimbabwe. Their participation reflected the university’s continued commitment to community engagement, health promotion and support for meaningful charitable initiatives.
The marathon was organised as a fundraising initiative for the seminary and attracted participants from different institutions and communities. The event featured the 21 km, 10 km and 5 km races, as well as a 2 km walk, providing an opportunity for people of all fitness levels to participate in the memorable occasion.
The event was officially opened by Bishop E. Nyathi, whose inspiring presence and words set a positive and encouraging tone for the day. Participants, supporters and guests came together in a spirit of fellowship, wellness and shared purpose, making the marathon a truly successful and uplifting event.
To conclude the day on an energetic note, aerobics sessions were led by the Very Reverend K. Muguti, helping runners cool down while celebrating the success of the marathon in a vibrant atmosphere.
The Catholic University of Zimbabwe extends its heartfelt gratitude to the organisers, participants, supporters and everyone who contributed towards the success of the Chishawasha Marathon.
